I got a problem when dealing with Infopath 2010 form with Sharepoint server 2010.When I filled the form with Infopath filler,It is not saved in the library instead of it ,it is saving in the local memory?

Thank you for your timely advice as this "elephant" is my next task. To bring closure to this thread, I will give you a bit more info. My project creates a solution that is used to recreate the site collection from scratch via (codeplex) SharePoint Solution Installer and a custom template.

So in terms of my workload I am looking
1) create the instance of the Data Connection Library using a feature
2) Somehow prepopulated it with my converted .ucdx XML files. I guess this means creating sets for Dev, Test and prod. I would be cool if the build only populated the set required for the destination environment but I think this will be too difficult.

3)Follow your Post instructions per InfoPath form. I note you don't publish to an installable InfoPath template but to the 'current'document library.

4)Afterwards collapse as this is seems a lot of work!

Hi Daniel,

Data Connection Library is by default version enabled. So you just need to create an instance of Data Connection Library type.

The best approach is to convert all your InfoPath data connections to a .udcx XML file in the data connection library. Either you can do it centrally, but I prefer it to make it subjective to my site collection, so that when I take an export of my site collection, I can re-import it in any other SharePoint farm without having to worry too much about the DCL's, however, after site import, you might have to change the List GUID's and URLs in the DCL's by downloading them as udcx and uploading it back.

This is a really good post and I am looking forward to your content on Nintex.

I did get the Approve/Reject in the context menu of the newly added DCL file. I guess I should have enabled version control when I created my Data Connection Library.

Also I wonder if I went for Centrally Managed Data Connections there would be quite some much involved. I would need create a set DCL Enteries for each Site Collection. I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts.

Hi Todd,

First retract your InfoPath form uploaded via Central Admin, it indirectly creates a feature with a unique GUID name, it will be difficult when you deploy it into production. It is better to have things in your control. This also creates a Content Type once you upload your Published Form in Central Admin -> Form Tempplates. Ensure that the Content Type is not in use before you retract and delete the autogenerated solution.

After retracting and deleting the uploaded form from Central Administration, ensure that the Content Type associated is also deleted.

Deploy your InfoPath form as a feature (as per the above post), go and activate the feature manually in your Site Collection Features, then go to Site Settings -> Site Content Types and check whehter that feature is available in the Content Type Gallery.

Then go to your Document/form Library, where you published your Infopath form, enable Content Types for this form library and select Display as a Web Application option.

Next, add your InfoPath Form content type in the document library and then when you click on the New button, your InfoPath form will open up correctly.

When I deploy a browser-based InfoPath form in a feature, create a new form library, and associate the new content type with the form library, when I try to fill out the form ("New -> MyForm"), it tries to download the .xsn file. If I manually upload the exact same form through Central Admin, it works perfectly (opens in the browser). Any ideas?
